Life out of Ruin

The first two weeks of the project, I have to admit that i struggled quite a bit as I felt that it was quite broad and i found it difficult to focus on one idea to research. After speaking to a tutor I settled on the idea of "Life out of Ruin" which is my interpretation of decay and growth that occurs in derelict buildings as a result of human neglect. I also found the idea of the merging of man made structures and the natural process of weathering, neglect and the growth of plant life and flora out of practically nothing. 

Week 3 is when i had completely settled on my idea i found it much easier to to the research that i needed to do.

Urban Environment - Week 3

So far I've done research on architecture in old and derelict buildings, while also looking at nature and flora in a city. This week I wish to get more sketching and observing done as most of my research has been photographs that I have taken. I also want to look at different ways of recording and different mediums that i could use.
